"We are honored to organize a program that recognizes South Carolina artists for their superior artistic abilities and helps advance their artistic careers," said Arts Commission Executive Director Suzette M. A graduate of Harvard, New England Conservatory of Music and the University of South Carolina, Warshauer is the daughter of Dr. Sam and Miriam Warshauer of Wilmington, N.C. She studied privately with Mario Davidovsky and Jacob Druckman. Her music has been described as "spiritually ecstatic," "a beautifully-felt...representation of (the) mystical creative process," which reflects her personal spiritual journey.

Commissioned by Paula Robison, Richard Nunemaker, Daniel Heifetz, Dayton Philharmonic, South Carolina Philharmonic, Zamir Chorale, Cantors Assembly, and others, her music is published by Oxford, MMB, World Music Press, and Kol Meira Publications. Recordings include Land of Promise: The Jews of South Carolina and Spirals of Light (Kol Meira), Bati l'Gani (I entered my Garden) on Robison's Places of the Spirit (Pucker Gallery), and Revelation on Robert Black Conducts (MMC).
